My tagboard's so weird! I just tried posting msgs four times and they all appear at all! sigh... and yet when i used ah ma's name to type 'testing testing' it came out! I wonder what happened... Maybe my tagboard rejects the name 'cheese'... so i just tried cheesie... hope it works! weird weird weird! *exasperated*

Haha, i wonder if Carine'll be honoured that i dedicated one blog post to her! (or the title rather) Anyway, Carine'll be coming back tomorrow! I wonder what she looks like now... I guess she'll look slightly different from webcamming... Think she looks more tanned! haha... Ok lah, nothing much at the moment... I'm suffering from "after lunch syndrome" *yawn*

My 1st day at CGH was yesterday! Today's the 2nd day... yup, i think the highlight of the day was meeting the AGV--Automated Guided Vehicle... Its this machine that delivers the food to the wards... Its very cool, like something from Star Wars, C3PO like that... haha... Anyway, i got lost in CGH! Sigh... what happened to cheesie and her amazingly good sense of direction??? haha... (i never got lost in SGH) I think i'm not used to the layout of the place yet... Its shaped like 2 diamonds, with the 1 corner of each diamond opposed so there's a cross in the centre...

After months of researching (ie checking out the rates other shops elsewhere) i finally decided to do my portfolio this holidays! For those of you who don't know, a portfolio's a thing where you take nice photos of urself and keep it in a book so your future grandcyhildren can see what you looked like when you were young... haha...

Anyway, i decided to do my portfolio at Everbliss which is located at Suntec... So i trudged there with my clothes, shoes etc yesterday... i had 3 casual clothes changes and 2 traditional costume changes... I really liked the kimono! It looked really nice! Korean was quite but i guess red isn't really my colour... Think the make-up was done pretty well! now to hope that the photos turn out nice! haha... Derrick said that he almost couldn't recognise me... cos i looked pretty different... i shall attempt to post photos of my makeover...

This is actually a continuation of my previous post... but i wanted to dedicate a full post to my museum excursion... so this is part 2! :)

My holidays were spent pretty fruitfully i think... Tuesday i went to Malaysia with ALOT of people! There were like 20 of us! I shall attempt to name everyone... please forgive me if i left anyone out... ME, Ah Ma, Clara, Jiabin, David, Anin, Chi Hsien, James, Linus, Stella, Pak Ling, Ting Ting, Diana, Yunxin, Priscilla, Shaun, Qing Yuan, Jonathan, Shumin, Xiuling and Freddy! haha, i think those around me must've thought that i never go Malaysia before... haha... Ting Ting was saying that cos i like dunno how to fill up my form properly.. haha... Its not that i never go before, but its my first time going on my own without my parents! (aside from the time in RGS when we went kukup) and we usually travel by car... so i wasn't sure how the bus system works... haha... i must've appeared very suaku! anyway, we crossed the causeway safely... I took the green seat on the 170 cos i figured ah ma was with me! haha... anyway, we spilt up into 2 groups cos the Luciano gang wanted to go Go-karting... The rest of us went to city square and we bought tickets for Batman Begins... (i watched it last thurs but its ok la.. its only 6RM) Then we headed for lunch... there was abt 15 mins left so me, tingting and anin went shopping! haha... shopaholics.. i didn't buy anything though... i liked a skirt but it was slightly transparent... then we rushed off for the movie... we were late! By a bit only la... (some more we had to go toilet) After the movie we shopped some more... and i went back to the same shop earlier... and bought 2 skirts! :) i saw this really nice denim hollister jacket at the reject shop... for only 49.90RM! Too bad i didn't have enough money already(but i could've borrowed from Clara and Ah Ma)... and i figured i wouldn't have much use for it so i had to control myself!

After that we waited for the rest and then we cabbed to a hawker centre like place for a seafood dinner! Wah, got alot of food like pepper crab, butter crayfish, oat prawns, BBQ stingray etc... then we took a bus back to the causeway and crossed the border back to singapore! :) all in a day's work.. haha... it was really pretty fun! We should go again! haha... a bunch of us were in a mad rush to catch the mrt train... think ah ma must've wondered where i disappeared to...

Wednesday i went with derrick to Jurong point... cos on saturday we went there and i saw this bag and top i liked... so i wanted to go n buy it... but when we reached there we hesitated against it... and i bought a top instead... when i was paying i realised that they have outlets in more acessible places like PS! Sigh... i didn't know... i bought my dad's bday present too! Then we had steamboat at Marina Bay! It was an ok steamboat lah, but i think the crabs weren't very fresh...

Thursday was my dad's birthday! And also the mango sale... haha... i went out in the morning to orchard and i went to 4 Mangos... (or is it mangoes?) haha... but i didn't buy anything! Whoever's reading this must be so proud of me! haha... i saw a nice knitted top at wisma... (the kind U need to wear a tube inside) but NO size... and all the other outlets also don't have... then i went n bought my dad's cake... We had a celebratory dinner at turf city...

Friday was jack's movie outing! I didn't join them for the buffet lunch at coca cos i've been eating non-stop for the past week and i was still full from dinner yesterday... so i joined them for the movie---Mr and Mrs Smith! its a real cool action movie that's funny to boot... but the plot's actually pretty simple... but still enjoyable! haha...

:( A BIG SIGH. The holidays are almost over! Today's the last day already... Well, i must say that i've had a pretty fruitful hols!

I forgot to mention that i visited the turtle and tortoise museum at Chinese Garden last saturday! It was a memorable experience! Wah, so fun! There're SO SO SO many terrapins, turtles and tortoises there! Really amazing... Then there's this bridge across a pond, where people walk on to buy terrapin food and feed the terrapins in the pond... so once you walk on the bridge, all of them will start swimming towards you! Cos they know that food's coming! :) So smart right? Anyway, the sight of them is overwhelming... its like feeding hungry koi in a pond.. except that in this case they're terrapins... really cool! Its a really nice place to go to... Cos we met the owner there, and i feel really happy to see someone who loves his pets so much... (i'm a turtle/tortoise/terrapin lover myself) there's a rare 2 headed-6 legged tortoise there... really interesting and rare! Its like conjoined twins... Its a genetic defect occuring one in dunno how many million... so when they feed them they gotta put the food right in front of them... or else they'll start swimming in different directions and make things very difficult for each other...
I highly encourage a visit to the turtle and tortoise museum! :) Its a really fun place and you can connect with nature... DBS credit/debit card holders get 40% off entrance fees so you only pay $3... But try to donate some money to the museum... cos the animals there need to eat! I think the expenses are pretty high... and they probably need all the help they can get!

There are several issues I'd like to blog about: (they're colour coded for easy reading)

1. Speaking to foreigners with a fake accent
2. Customer service and the bookstore lady who is a counter example
3. Holidays are almost over!

I went for the medical talk by Prof Parveen Kumar (who wrote Kumar and Clark) and i was pretty amused that some students (or rather most) replied to her in accented English... i think that by putting on an accent, it'll make it even more difficult for her to understand cos its not a REAL accent! haha... and anyway we should be proud of our singaporean english... Just speaking proper english is enough. There's no need to add in a funny accent that's neither here nor there... Anyway, i managed to get my copy of Kumar and Clark autographed! haha... She's a real nice lady! yupyup...

I just went to a certain bookstore in Bras Basah today... was thinking of ordering the new edition of Norman Browse... So i asked the Auntie there... then she said cannot pay now, cos the price may be raised or maintained... so i could reserve a copy... So i said ok, i'll reserve a copy... then she said that when the stock comes she'll call me, and i have to decide on the spot whether i want the book or not, and that I have to go down within ONE day to collect the book and pay money! I was trying to explain to her that its quite difficult for me to do that if the stock comes in on a weekday, cos we'll all be in clinics! And her shop closes at 6! If i end at Changi at 5 how can i rush down in time?? Then she said that she has to do it this way cos its unfair for the students who go down but didn't place an order and they got no book to buy... That didn't really make much sense to me cos it'll be unfair to me too since i think its not that i don't wanna buy the book or that i don't want to pay, but rather that I'm really not free to go down! So i tried explaining to her that maybe it'll be better if she lets me go down during the weekend... like saturday... think she wasn't very convinced.. haha... Anyway, i just called co-op up, and they say that the stock's coming in in AUGUST! wah... so late.. i'd finished my surgery posting by then... good luck to all the people who're waiting for the stock man...

Derrick said that the exchange wasn't necessary... that i should've just "fu1 yan3" the auntie... but i wanted to be sure that i got my book... whats the point in making a reservation when i won't be able to get the book in the end?? sigh... Anyway, i didn't quite like the experience... haha, maybe the auntie doesn't like me cos i wasn't convinced by her earlier to place an order for the book... whatever la... but from now on if the co-op isn't too much more expensive i'll be their customer... I think the co-op provides better service!

Right, regarding holidays... yup, 2 weeks are over! And my this week's packed! Goodness... I hope i've had enough rest! I really need it cos i'll be going to CGH next! Sigh... i'm NOT looking forward to 1 hour rides home...

Half the holidays are over!!! Goodness! What have i been doing??? Lots apparently... haha... Derrick's birthday was on Sunday... We had a picnic at the botanic gardens! Then we lazed around at my place and we had dinner at crystal jade! :) I went for Kulshinbo buffet on Monday! Wow... I ate till i almost burst! The food spread there's pretty good! Got lots and lots of food... haha... Then yesterday i finished reading "The curious incident of the dog in the night time"... I'll be going back to SGH later... cos must meet our tutor to pass him our log books to sign! Oh, i finished watching "MARS" which is a drama serial starring Zai Zai and Da S... :) Quite a good show! Unfortunately, the set i bought's missing some episodes! So like i missed out some parts that happened in between... haha... Thankfully its not the ending that's missing!!!!

haha... the title says it all! I packed up all my year 2 stuff today! Cleared some old boxes with my Secondary textbooks and worksheets... with Derrick's help! :) Wah, looking at the past makes me feel so old! I was looking at some of my drawings, worksheets and projects since sec 1... Haha... those were the days man...

And i got to drive (after 2 months of nil practice)... Think my driving skills have gone down the drain! Sigh... and i'm too reckless when i change lanes... gotta watch out for that! But i'm too slow on the road and i take some time to speed up... Guess i need more practise! My parking's even worse! haha... Practise practise practise...

Oh, Jack called me from the airport! He was using the free phone...

Yay! The hols are here! A quick recap on the past week so far... On monday we got a surprise call from Dr Lai, who wanted to give us our test that day! Goodness... I had a lipoma for short case and intestinal obstruction for long case... the long case gave me a terrible history! So he gave me a scenario instead and i had to interpret from there... Think i did alright... My medicine test was on wednesday... it was quite alright... i think our tester just wanted to get it over and done with so she could have her lunch... haha... i had a hepatosplenomegaly with lymphadenopathy due to leukemia for a short case and URTI for a long case... And that ended our clinics tests!!! :) Oh, i also discovered the FUN of playing insaniquarium! Thankfully i only started playing towards the end of the posting...

Thursday was spent baking a brownie and studying for the OSCEs on friday... And friday was spent waiting for some examiner who was late! How terrible... then later we sang Jack the birthday song... and had lunch at Munchy Monkey! haha, somehow our orders came before huiting's table... although they ordered 1st... then after lunch we rushed back to LT 28 for lecture! haha... it was a waste of time! Just half an hour... later we went to Serene centre Mac's and played Citadels, Chi Hsien's card game... and then we went to Jack's Place (pun intended) where we played a 2nd round... haha...

Saturday, me, Derrick, Ah Ma, Jack and David went to watch Star Wars! Thanks to David for the sponsored tickets and popcorn! :)

And today's Sunday... I'm mapling! haha... on Maple SEA... So i started my character ALL over again... sigh...
