We had dinner at Debbie's mum's place last thursday! (11th Aug) i forgot to blog about this... haha, me and PL were terribly late... we reached at about 9pm... cos PL was supposed to meet me at city hall eariler... but she got held up... and we had to cab there... and this wednesday me and ah ma met up with her for lunch as well! (cos we had a briefing at nuh and she's posted there on attachment)

On friday we met up at glass house Fish and Co... to celebrate David's birthday! He treated us to drinks... and on saturday we had a jc class outing at fish and co at wheelock... yes... 2 days in a row! Goodness... so ex...

I experienced bad service 2 days in a row... and both instances were at Fish & Co... different outlets... I was quite surprised that it was so terrible, cos previous times i went there the service's always been good...

On friday when our food came the sauces weren't there yet and we had to ask for it... David treated us to refillable drinks... me and ah ma decided on soup instead so we drank iced water... i was pretty thirstly cos my spaghetti was pretty salty so i kept drinking water... and i already finished my water, but they didn't fill it up... we had to ask them before they filled it up once... and later when we finished the second cup, both me and linus asked the waitress once each to top up our water... but they still didn't! I was so thirsty i had to drink from my water bottle... and the worst thing was when i politely asked the waitress the 2nd time for more water she gave the "tsk tsk irritated" look! Kinda terrible right? Usually when i eat there or elsewhere, the water's topped up automatically... this time we had to request for it... and not only did it not happen, but i got an annoyed look when i asked!!

On saturday i order a grilled seasonal catch cajun style... when it came it was so burnt! i gave em the benefit of doubt and ate a bit of it but it was seriously burnt... carine tried and agreed with me... it was like eating carbon, not fish... so i requested for a change... and i asked to switch to sambal instead... i waited a really long time, and everyone had already finished eating (except for yaoquan who came late)... so i asked another waitress abt my sambal fish order... she checked for me and asked me if i ordered cajun or sambal... i told her i ordered cajun, but i changed it... i waited a while more... and finally my food came... but guess what?? It was cajun again! And it was burnt again! Sigh... i was so frustrated... But i didn't want to wait anymore so i decided to give up and just eat it... when i realised that i didn't have any vegetables! so i asked the waitress... and she said "oh, U want vegetables?" *duh* goodness... of course lah... No appetite to eat liao... summore so "nan2 chi1"... it was so salty... Kenny tried and said it was saltier than yaoquan's... sigh...

i think some of us were pretty fed up... yaoquan was saying we should just bill and not pay for it... but my veggies already came... so i just ate la... what to do... wah, i'm never going back there again... really bad service... i know i was troublesome to reject my food, but it was really burnt! they forgot all about my order, and when i finally got it, it was unchanged! and worse still, it wasn't a complete serving. SIGH...

I think the staff there's pretty messed up... they messed up Chritopher's order too... he asked for all rice but they gave him fries and rice... and they didn't top up our water either... Fish and Co must be supporting the save water campaign...

My parents were saying i should've asked for the manager, but i've never done it before! Plus there were so many of us... i didn't want to make a scene... when i told derrick about it i got more pissed... and it kinda spoilt our day... i was kinda glum... ok, the next time it happens (although i hope it doesn't) i'll make sure i get the manager and settle everything once and for all...

I'm so sorry for this long post! and for making you all read my whining... But its my blog after all... haha... i have grounds to be angry right?? Somemore there's been all the hype about bad service in singapore... yet its still happening... sigh...

i shall put this all behind me! :) Look forwards!

Wow... time really flies! And my surgery posting in CGH's over! I have many good and bad memories of the place... mostly good lah... even the "shitty" issue isn't very bad... more of amusing... haha... The worst one was the "run-in" with other fellow medical professionals... and of course being rejected/scolded by foul-mooded patients...

Anyway, CGH's a really nice place with a nice environment and excellent student welfare! And all the doctors there are very nice! Even when they're busy, they still try to teach us and talk to us along the corridors... yup... the house officers are great too! we keep harrowing em but they're ok with it... and they always tell us about interesting cases! so to "thank" them i baked cookies! with lots and lots of ingredients! yupyup... took me 4 hours! Thankfully we had a relatively free day on wednesday cos we had a lecture in NUH at that time... and after that we were done for the day... i guess most of them really liked the cookies... according to shermin Dr Kum ate them all at one sitting...

Oh, we had our 'test' on tuesday... all our patients were discharged already! Ah ma presented biliary colic, i did acute pancreatitis and linus did upper GI bleed...

On friday i took some photos of the cso and with the lockers... i think i'll really miss CGH... the pig-nose turtle in the tank, the fishes... the comfortable sofas...

Yup... that's all for surgery at CGH... Now for medicine at NUH... i wonder how it'll be... whether our tutor's nice... *jia you everyone*

Our 403 class outing last week at Marche! :)

Our meeting up with yaoquan at pasta cafe! anyway, i was extremely late for the outing... i'm so sorry everyone... (i wonder if u guys are reading this) i know its all my fault cos i mixed up my dim sum dollies show date... i thought i was supposed to go on saturday night but it was actually on sunday afternoon... so everyone had to go out on sunday night... ya and then as usual got pple late lah... well, its always the case, and i think that its kinda hard to prevent it from happening... i'm quite "resigned" to the fact that our outings never start on time... (i know this time its my fault for being late but we all kinda take turns to show up late... haha) eh... so maybe we can think of a solution? like make the latest person pay for dinner?? haha...

A spectacular photo that yaosheng took! (at the fireworks show at 12 midnight at Marina Bay on National Day) I went to Marina Bay to watch the fireworks toO! But my view wasn't as good... got some trees obscuring the scenery...

haha... some dirty stuff happened on thursday... me, ah ma and linus were doing a per-rectal (sticking a gloved index finger into a patient's anus) when alot of shit starting coming out... and stinking up the whole place... and the patient kinda farted a bit so the shit was being blown over the diaper... and when linus removed his glove a little of it splattered onto my right hand... so yah, i went to wash it off... and then we had to get the nurse to change his diaper... the poor old man... think he felt pretty embarassed... i looked at my labcoat but i didn't see anything on it...

Then later during tutorial i kinda realised that my labcoat had little brown specks! *eeks* and i started swabbing it... bad idea... the patch kinda got lighter but more spread out... gross... and i still had to wear my labcoat cos we're not allowed in the wards without it! Thankfully Seow Yen lent me her labcoat (cos he was going home)... She's my saviour! (again) the last time she lent me her spare phone when i dropped mine into the toilet bowl...

Anyway, i soaked it with tons of soap and added some bleach today... *argh* i'm thinking of throwing my labcoat away... (ah ma says if i wanna throw it, throw to her... haha) so yesterday night i had to look for my spare coat... (i bought 2 in m1. one thick, one thin.) it was still in the plastic bag!

Oh, something else happened today... this uncle couldn't pee post-op... and he was trying really really hard... he had the urgency but it just couldn't come out! He was standing up and waiting there for a long time... then later we got him back up on bed (cos they scared he fall down) and he was still trying! He was kneeling on the bed... and whistling to himself to increase the urge... and still nothing! sigh... poor thing...

haha... i think i blog once a week... (about there la) but i didn't blog last week... but i blogged last sunday... aiya... watever la... Anyway, i watched the Dim Sum Dollies yesterday! it was funny and nice but i think i preferred last year's show... the climax didn't really climax i think... last year's climax was 'higher'... and the funny thing's that i didn't really watch the whole of last year's show cos i was too busy sleeping cos it was on rag and flag day and i was just so tired i kept napping...

Oh, i'm such a gundu... so blur... i thought i was supposed to watch the saturday evening show... but actually i bought tickets for the sunday matinee show! So i only realised i remembered the wrong show when derrick went home with me on saturday afternoon and i took out the tickets and saw "SUNDAY, 07th AUGUST"... he was commenting that thankfully we didn't reach there and take out the tickets and realise it was Sunday's show... haha...

Silly me right? Anyway, my tagboard's up again! So weird!!! Hope everything's well this time... no more "click post but no post come out"...

We had an outing yesterday night... at Pasta cafe... i was 2 hrs late... (cos i just finished dim sum dollies and i had dinner with derrick 1st) but when i reached Pasta cafe they just sat down! Wow... i wonder what they did in the 1st 2 hrs... haha...
